Photo Notes PHOTOmagical Nature is just one big stage of patterns, shapes, and designs. Is it right to  combine them in Photo Shop and create something new? I think so. I believe  it’s the same thing artists do when they paint an abstract. It’s part of what you  see and part what you imagine. What’s wrong with that? Besides, if you’re a  photographer you’ll find yourself looking for patterns and shapes in advance  which can only lead to more creative photography. You will begin to construct  in your mind, a finished image. Isn’t that what photography is all about?  PHOTOmagical began from experimenting in Photo Shop where I was superimposing an image on a blank layer.  Just for fun I rotated one horizontally, creating a mirror image, and then placed the two images together, back to  back. What emerged was a beautiful intricate design. I then turned the two images upside down and linked the  whole and, presto, two HEARTS!. Click on the River Original on the PHOTOmagical page to see the result. You’ll  see not only two hearts but diamonds as well. And the original image? It’s just a dead branch hung up in the river  current on a very grey day.  Each PHOTOmagical print is shipped with a full explanation of what it is and how it was made.   They are wonderful décor additions for your home or office and make fascinating conversation pieces.
